Who is responsible

OurIdea.ai is the data controller for this site. OurIdea.ai is the trading name of a sole trader based in the United Kingdom. The operator is an individual and is the data controller; their name is not published here, and is provided on request to any individual whose data is processed, or to the Information Commissioner's Office, by emailing privacy@ouridea.ai.

The short version

This site sets no cookies at all and runs no analytics. There are no accounts, no sign-up and no contact form. Your shortlist and theme choice are saved in your own browser and never reach us. The only thing any page fetches from elsewhere is two fonts, described below.

Information about listed companies

Most records here concern companies, and information about a company is not personal data. But a company name that includes a person's name, and a registered office at someone's home, can be personal data about that individual, particularly for sole-director companies. We treat it that way.

What we publish

Company name, company number, status, incorporation date, registered office locality, region and postcode district, and registered SIC codes. All of it from the public register. We do not publish full street addresses, officer names, dates of birth, or any officer details.

Where it comes from

The Companies House public register, through its official API. We do not scrape or copy any third-party directory, and we buy no data from anyone.

Why we are allowed to

Legitimate interests, under Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR: publishing a searchable, accurately sourced index of companies in a sector helps people find suppliers and helps those companies be found. The data is already published by the state for public inspection, we republish only a subset, we add no inferences or ratings, and anyone can be removed on request. We consider that a fair balance. If you disagree in your case, say so and we will remove you rather than argue the point.

How long

For as long as the company is active on the register. Dissolved companies drop out automatically at the next refresh. Removal requests are permanent.

Your rights

You can ask for access, correction, erasure, or restriction, and you can object to the processing. Email privacy@ouridea.ai. Removal is actioned on the next build, normally within a day, and needs no justification.

Corrections to the register itself must be made at Companies House; they reach this site automatically at the next refresh.

Information about you as a visitor

Stored in your browser

Your shortlist and your light or dark preference are kept in your browser's local storage. They stay on your device, are readable only by this site, are never transmitted, and we cannot see them. Clearing your browser data removes them.

Server logs

The site is hosted on Netlify, which processes requests and keeps operational logs including IP addresses for security and abuse prevention. Netlify acts as our processor. See Netlify's privacy policy.

Fonts

Pages load two typefaces from Google Fonts. Your browser requests them directly from Google, which means Google receives your IP address and the fact that you loaded a page on this site. No cookie is set by this and no consent banner covers it, because the fonts are needed to render the page at all.

We would rather not send anything to Google that we do not have to, and we intend to serve these font files from this site instead, which removes the request entirely. Until that is done, this is what happens and it would be misleading not to say so.

Analytics

There are none. No analytics tool, tag manager, advertising pixel or social widget is loaded by this site, and no cookie of any kind is set. There is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to. The only third-party request any page makes is for the fonts described above.

If you email us

We keep the correspondence so we can act on it and show what was actioned, and to defend a complaint if one is made. We do not add you to any list and we send no marketing.

Who we share with

Nobody, beyond the processors named above. We do not sell data, share it with advertisers, or pass it to anyone for their own purposes.

Please come to us first, at privacy@ouridea.ai. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes

If this notice changes materially the effective date above changes with it.
